“If you could just wind it in a bit I would be giving you a slap on the wrist followed by the next assignment, but I’m under a lot of pressure right now. One of our biggest contracts has hired someone to audit our performance and our performance, minus you, is flawless.”
With this in mind, Christopher Bacalla, the razor sharp founder of Atrium Agencies, assigns the man known as Marshall to investigate a killing; of a horse. The hamlet known as “The Fen” may seem desolate, but the horse may be a spark to the powder keg of blood ties and family feuds that has been building for years. As Marshall investigates he discovers the lengths that people will go to protect what they have, and the lengths others will go to take it from them.
“A Horse Named Morbid” is the second book in the "Marshall Mysteries" series, a modern twist on the hard-boiled stories of 1930s, 40s and 50s American detective fiction. The protagonist, Marshall is a haunted and lonely investigator who works for people he abhors to feed an addiction that is slowly but surely destroying him. But the source of the addiction is a past that may be catching up to him, quicker than he thinks...
The Second book in my series is finished and, pending some last checks, will be published in the next couple of weeks. To prepare for this I will be launching a countdown deal for my first eBook "Teardrops in an Ocean" (which has been newly republished as a 2nd Edition) so people can get started at a reduced price.
I will post again when the release date has been decided!
